Fish found at Boyer’s Lake:
Largemouth Bass
One of the most popular sport fish in Kansas lakes, largemouth bass are aggressive fighters known for explosive strikes and strong runs. They’re commonly found near shoreline cover, weeds, fallen trees, and shaded structure.
Crappie
Crappie are a favorite for both beginner and experienced anglers due to their schooling behavior and excellent table quality. They’re often caught around brush piles, docks, and submerged timber, especially during spring and early summer.
Flathead Catfish
Flathead catfish are large, powerful predators that can grow to impressive sizes. Known for hard fights and nighttime feeding activity, they prefer deeper water, submerged structure, and live bait presentations.
Black Carp
Black carp are large freshwater fish recognized for their strength and size. They are bottom-feeders with a slower, steady fighting style and are less commonly targeted than bass or catfish, making them a unique catch for anglers visiting the lake.
